Athena 11, Centaur 10 FD 28.6 mm seat tube questions
Do these modern (2009) Campy FDs, accept older 28.6 mm clamps
(cannibalized from a 5-10 year old Daytona, Veloce or Mirage FD)? If so, are the FD bodies the same and it doesn't matter whether I order a braze on or a 32 mm clamp on style? -Mike |

Starting in 2008, all Campagnolo front derailleurs are permanently attached to the clamp(31.8 and 34.9 only. I guess Campagnolo doesn't think steel frames exist) or the brazeon tab. Get a brazeon and then an aftermarket or Campagnolo clamp(again, only in 31.8 or 34.9). Problem solvers is the nes I use for 28.6mm. |

The material is flexible to bend around the tube, but is not compressible, so it doesn't squish. I know Campy specs a longer BB for triples with OS seat tubes, and this is basically making it a 32mm seat tube, but I've had no problems hitting the small ring of a triple on my PX-10, which has such a shim, even with a 110mm BB. |
