As I understand it, you are strongly against asthmatics using inhalers
during competition.

What is your stand on diabetics using insulin?

As I understand it, BananaBreath is strongly against NON-asthmatics
using inhalers
during competition.

Spider Monkey is against (or for, actually) anything that gives him
the opportunity to make a bane comment. Just for clarity...are you
talking about Petacchi (asthma)? I take it that you're being
theoretical about diabetes. I'd be against somebody trying to shoot
up in a feed zone while pedaling without his/her hands on the
handlebars and fumbling with a syringe!

Why in a feed zone?

LawBoy,

I guess you've never heard of Team Type 1...

http://www.teamtype1.org/

A very good team with a few diabetic riders who use internal insulin pumps.

I was joking, man!!! Back in 2002 before I moved to the DFW area, I
joined Team Diabetic/Bicycle Heaven as a Cat 5 and relative of two
diabetics.

My cousin always has to shoot up before he eats. 35+ 4/5 races are
crazy enough in the feed zones (especially when they're short) without
having to imagine my cousin testing his glocose level with a finger
prick, packing a needle with insulin, putting a turnicut on his arm or
leg and shooting up the insulin with a needle. And that says nothing
of the risk to spectators posed by the tossing of syringes like
they're water bottles.

Kimmage covers all this in his book. It's easier than you would
think, but it takes some preparation.

He chose not to distinguish between asthmatics and non asthmatics, saying
that inhalers and TUEs were BS.

Bane is a noun. EX: Using words incorrectly is the bane of your
existence.
