Macs' track's tac attack.

Running race organisers are finding it harder and harder to get roads closed. I think it would be a mistake to see this as an anti-cyclist attitude: it's more an anti-anything-that-inconveniences-me-even-for-an-hour-on-one-day-of-the-year attitude. How many times do you see such vigilantism for any other road closing? I suspect that it was only because it was a *cycling* event that the moron thought it was acceptable to take his action. James |

Or the moron thought the action would be an effective attack because we ride on tyres. It might not be because this was a cycling event other than it give opportunity. --chris |

Having said that, Chris is right: strew tacks in front of runners and a few might get them stuck in their shoes, which would be irritating but probably wouldn't get through to any feet and wouldn't bring the race to a sudden halt. |
