Default Routes Paddington to Waterloo - Reprise

Well that went wrong!

I chose to travel to Paddington on the day that the line between Bristol
Parkway and Swindon was blocked and my train arrived in Paddington about
30 mins late. Thought I no bother grab a cab. Mistake BIG mistake there
s a protest near Westminster Taxi took longer than it would have by
bike... Eurostar were good though they changed my ticket without any
cost.

I did use the Brommy in Paris to get from Gare de Nord to my hotel in
Montmartre. I had just finished my shower when a colleague travelled on
the same train and arrived at the hotel by taxi phoned me from the lobby
having just arrived. Brommy 1 Taxi 0

No probs using the Brom around Paris even not knowing where I was going.

Back in Waterloo, ended up going wrong somewhere after Westminster
Bridge and so ended going Victoria Street then Grosvenor Place?? to Hyde
park Corner. Then it was back on route through the Park to Paddington
with plenty of time for my train.

Thanks for all the suggestions next time I will do better.

Gwyn

IME that is the case without the help of protests to block to traffic.
The lesson is to only use other transport in London when the Brommie has
failed because it's always quicker by Brommie (as you found out in Paris).
