Default Yet another pavement motorist kills and injures pedestrians.

Can nothing be done to keep these highly dangerous machines and their
drivers off pavements?

"A female pedestrian in her seventies has been killed and another has
been seriously injured after a car hit a shop in north Wales.

North Wales Police say the two unnamed local women were involved in a
collision with a blue Jaguar car in Rhos on Sea at about 15:36 BST.

The male car driver, also local, was taken to hospital but his
injuries were not thought to be serious.

The promenade has been closed between Cayley Embankment and Penrhyn
Road.

Police said the dead woman received fatal injuries and died at the
scene and the coroner had been informed.

The second pedestrian was taken by ambulance to hospital with serious
injuries.

A total of four appliances from Colwyn Bay, Caernarfon, Colwyn Bay and
Llandudno, were sent to the scene.

Emergency vehicles were likely to remain at the scene for several
hours, police said.

North Wales Police appealed for witnesses, or anyone with information
on the collision, to contact the Roads Policing Unit at St Asaph on
101."

The car was not driving on the pavement, it can clearly be seen
firmly stuffed into the wall at an acute angle which indicates it was
not driving along the pavement, it crossed directly from the road to
the shop front.

Hardly an incidence of pavement driving just an unfortunate accident.

The fact that the motorist strayed onto the pavement and killed
someone there is enough. I suppose next you will be blaming the
vulnerable victims in order to exonerate the motorist from blame
because it was merely an 'unfortunate accident', according to you?

People should really not be driving if they can't keep their vehicles on the
road.

Luckily this chap did not injure anyone, it sounds like he was an accident
waiting to happen.

Obviously, for the label 'pavement motorist'. In this case the car was
also travelling at speed across the pavement. It is plain that this is
all it takes for a motorist to kill someone on a pavement.

Indeed - they should not be allowed in a car unless they can stay ON
the road.

Which plainly boils down to "cyclists should not be allowed to cycle".
