it looks like Bruyneel is really cleaning house for the 2007 season.

It's a natural evolution for Discovery. Since Lance has retired it's
hard to justify having such a large team with a lack of major
victories. This allows Discovery to operate with less pressure and more
time to develop newer riders.

Eki's moving into management, which was known at the Tour this year (hence
the reason why the peloton let him lead the group onto the Champs Elysee)
.... So he's not really gone from Discovery Channel.

Does this mean their full (last) names will be used from now on? That would
be a relief.

Is Bruyneel cleaning house, or are the rats leaving the sinking ship? Were
they pushed or did they jump? With the exception of Ekimov, it mostly
looks like the latter to me.

Holy crap! I can see all the others, but dumping Il Falco? Didn't he win
some big Italian race in '05? Guess if you come in fifth in the same race
the next year, you're yesterday's news. Hmm.

Though that makes a lot of sense, when you look closely, Triki and Ace are
great riders, but just not in the leading group enough.

But I think you're right with regard to Savoldelli. The others were either
just too unlucky (Hammond) or getting too old. Might be that when the axe
started to fall, some of them just quit or decided to look for a new team.

Surprised that Danielson wasn't among them.

Vjateslav Ekimov led the peloton onto the Champs Elysee
because the riders wanted to show the world how they think
of him.

"[Michael] Barry is said to be joining the T-Mobile team,
which will be managed by American Bob Stapleton. "

T-Mobile always provides reasons to watch them closely.

I don't know anyting about Bob Stapleton, but be sure you aren't confusing
him with Bill Stapleton, LANCE's attorney/manager.
