See http://www.opencyclemap.org/ which overlays it onto OpenStreetMap (which is generally better than Google maps for cycling, walking, horse-riding, etc.-- Google Maps maps are completely driving-oriented and don't have any footpaths, bridleways, etc. on them). I am myself unclear to what extent the NCN routes are supposed to actually exist in the OpenStreetMap data itself-- there seems to be quite a bit there, and their wiki has guidelines about how to tag NCN routes. Opencyclemap may just be a cycling-oriented renderer for OpenStreetMap rather than an OpenStreetMap overlay. I would have thought the purpose of opencyclemap was to add cycle routes to OpenStreetMap. That would seem the logical thing to do anyway. |

Should have thought that even if Sustrans or others don't have the data on thier own sites there are enough cyclists about who will have done that already and posted on shared route sites. -- Come to Dave & Boris - your cycle security experts. |
