Hire Bike and momentum
Hi All,
debating whether to take my own light bike on plane to ride down the Danube or us a hire bike. one argument for the hire is that on a totally flat route the heavier bike picks up more momentum and allows you to maintain a higher speed more easily. Is this a reasonable argument. |

Is this a reasonable argument. Yes. Whilst on a continental tour myself and a similarly fully-laden colleague were able to keep up with some light-weight racers along a meandering riverside road. They wimped out and took a mountain road. -- Bah, and indeed, Humbug. |
