wrote: In article , says... http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/51...Hulton-Archive The wierd thing about that picture, in my opinion, is that the bike doesn't aoppear to be properly balanced. The contact point with the chap's head is well back from the 'bottom' of the wheel. Unless th ewheel is somehow locked from rotation I would have thought it would immediately roll backwards down his forehead. Was there something in the bike design that stopped the wheel rotating backwards perhaps? Mike Dear Mike, If you enlarge the photo and look closely, you can see a rope around the seat stays and rear wheel. Cheers, Carl Fogel |

So you think you can do a trackstand?
Per mike:
The wierd thing about that picture, What jumped out at me was that he's wearing a white shirt - yet leaning on his elbows in grass. -- PeteCresswell |

So you think you can do a trackstand?
Per Andre Jute:
You reckon the whole thing is a Photoshop special, Sherlock? I don't know enough to make a judgment graphics-wise. But, in addition to the elbows/grass thing, his posture/balance doesn't look right for supporting 40 lbs or so on his forehead. OTOH, the two ladies certainly seem tb looking at *something*. -- PeteCresswell |

But in practice all graphics sent up to the net are either deliberately or automatically processed somewhere along the line to correct colour balance and, if the poster is at all conscientious, by sharpening (not at all what it sounds like, the actual process of choice is "unsharp mask"). That makes it dicey to say with certainty whether the photo is a composite unless... Most fraudulent photoshoppers are caught because they lack the necessary skills, because they are crude. Some of even the sophisticated and skilled are caught because Joe Blow no longer believes that a photograph can't lie. But a picture still tells a thousand words, which we have now spent trying to work out the truth of that photo. Andre Jute Truth is a subdivision of liberty |
