Well we don't know what the guys driving was actually like. If he had
driven dangerously a few choice words, such as you prick, wouldn't seem
to be inappropriate.

He shouldn't have broken the guys mirror but perhaps he just tapped it
and it fell out. How much does mirror glass cost to replace?

Up to 350 quid for the glass alone

Halfords seem to offer replacements from about £9.50.

What kind of idiot pays £350 for a small mirror?

A real idiot - mine costs less than £55 for the whole door mirror, electric motor and heated. Includes delivery.

A complete mirror for many high end cars is over a thousand pounds. The
350 for the glass is one for a Lexus LS430, I know because a friend
recently had one of his professionally removed while the car was parked.

A complete mirror for something very ordinary is about a hundred
upwards, depending upon whether it is colour coded, electric, etc.

Crikey - nearly as much as a spare windscreen wiper.

Of course it did, they always do that.

How much does mirror glass cost to replace?

Not the point. It's still criminal damage.

And as a matter of (pure) interest, the last time I had a door mirror
replaced, it cost me £165 + VAT.

Today, it would be more; my car has door mirrors which are heated as
well as being remotely controllable for viewing angle.

I can believe that. It depends on the car, of course.

That would do for a push bike, I expec t.

Well, to the extent that cyclists bother with safety equipment at least

What kind of idiot pays £350 for a small mirror?

The sort of idiot who wants the vehicle kept in proper working order
with (in particular) all of its safety equipment properly maintained and
operational.

You probably wouldn't understand.

If you did, you couldn't and wouldn't have offered such asinine nonsense
as "Halfords seem to offer replacements from about £9.50".

Exactly. And there's fitting on top of that, plus VAT.

But apparently it's perfectly OK for some chav cyclist to smash a mirror
costing £160 upwards and expect not to pay for it.

said McLaren has since changed his behaviour.

McLaren, 37, of Forest Park Place, admitted behaving in a threatening

Sybil Ramsay and punching the wing mirror of a car, smashing it, at
Dundee City Council amenities site at Riverside Drive on March 23.

Sheriff Tom Hughes deferred sentence until November 19 for reports and a
restriction of liberty order assessment.

Sounds like the weakest defence ever for scummy behaviour, I hope he
gets locked up, but I doubt it.

What does
"he had a medical condition and had been going through a tough spell
acting as carer for his mother."
have to do with his vile threatening behaviour?
